HAPPY FATHERS DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to shout out to all you fathers out there, especially mine, cuz I love him

 

Now, so I’m in Cali again. Life is good cuz I’m with the one I love (what more can you ask for on earth, huh?) and also close to many other loved ones I hadn’t seen in too long. I haven’t caught up with everyone I’ve wanted to yet as I dont have a car, but I might have a potential solution to that soon here….

But last weekend, I was able to make it up to Ojai for a Oak Grove School Reunion and see some old friends- it was awesome!

then early the next morning Brandon and I jumped on a plane and headed up to Oakland for his uncles wedding. It was a beautiful and relaxed casual wedding with lots of friends and family, and the reception was in a beautiful spot in the forest.  nice

An over-due post: Sister’s visit August 25, 2008

So, I realize I have been inconsistant with this blog, but as is life.

Anyway, I wanted to post about something I’ve wanted to make a post for months ago- when my sister came to the Philippines in May/June

Rachel is my older sister and my one and only in fact. Her and I couldn’t be more the same but different, and I wouldnt be the person I am today without her sopport and breath-of-fresh-air “sister talks” that we so often engage . Rach came out to the PI only a couple weeks behind me. The only downside to this, was that I didnt completely have the rhythm of everything yet, and was still establishing my own opinions on my surrounding area- on the contrary, what better a way to experience a still-new place than with my better half at my side?

We had a lot of fun- visiting waterfalls, island hopping, bike rides to the beach, snorkeling adventures, and of course my favorite: sister talks with a beautiful ocean view.

Here were some highlights:

We showed sister around….

it didnt take sister long to fit right in….

she missed aircon but who could blame her?

we caught a boat out to Pescador- the small island right off the coast…

…and went snorkeling.

we had some drinks and sister-talk of course.

we hitched a ride to Kawasan with Planet Action….

…and took Oak Grove pics by the river.

we enjoyed the water…

… but not the coconut wine (tubah).

.

and we took a trip to Malipascua Island…

at one point we had to hitchhike and also share the same tiny bed (3 of us)…

…but it was worth it.

Brandon and I did some exploring…

…and later sister did some city exploring of her own.

I had a great time hangin out with sister….

…and I was sad to see her go.

Miss you sister. Can’t wait to see you again.
